Biography
Steven Curtis Chapman was born November 21, 1962 in Paducah, Kentucky. He signed with Sparrow Records in 1987 and became one of the most commercially successful Christian artists of all time. He has sold over 11 million albums, won 59 GMA Dove Awards (more than any other artist in history), five Grammy Awards, and placed over 46 singles at No. 1 on Christian radio. He and his wife Mary Beth adopted three daughters from China. In May 2008, his youngest daughter Maria was tragically killed in an accident at their home. His subsequent album Beauty Will Rise (2009) documented his family's grief journey and became one of his most critically acclaimed works, resonating with millions who have suffered loss.
