Biography
Jason Petty, known professionally as Propaganda, grew up in South Central Los Angeles and began his artistic journey as a spoken word poet and hip hop artist. He is widely regarded as one of the most intellectually and theologically substantive voices in Christian hip hop, known for addressing systemic injustice, race, faith, and identity from a Reformed theological perspective. He built his reputation through the Humble Beast collective and label, releasing acclaimed projects including Excellent (2012) and Crooked (2014). He is also the author of Terraform: Building a Better World (2022) and is a frequent speaker at Christian conferences. He taught high school English and history in Los Angeles before transitioning to full-time ministry. He is married to artist Alma Zate.
