Biography
Armour D. Stephenson III, known as Pastor AD3, is the lead pastor of The City KC Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He was thrust into pastoral leadership at age 21 in January 2005 when his parents — Armour Stephenson Jr. and his wife Shirley — were killed in a small-plane crash in Johnson County, Kansas. He had been married just six weeks at the time. Undaunted, he sat down with his deacons, modernized the church's services, and led it from a traditional Black Baptist congregation to one of the fastest-growing churches in the Kansas City area, attracting thousands of millennials and young adults. He preaches from an iPad and is known as a bold, innovative voice in the Kansas City church world and the broader Christian community.
