Biography
Kirk Dewayne Franklin was born January 26, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas and was raised by his aunt Gertrude after being abandoned as a baby. She recycled aluminum cans to fund piano lessons for him from age four. He leads the ensembles God's Property and The Family and has released over a dozen studio albums. Variety calls him the 'Reigning King of Urban Gospel' and he is one of the inaugural inductees into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame. With 20 Grammy Awards, he is one of the most decorated gospel artists of all time.
