Biography
Darlene Zschech was born September 26, 1969 in Brisbane, Australia. She joined Hillsong Church (then Hills Christian Life Centre) in Sydney in 1986 and served as a worship leader there for over 25 years. Her 1993 song 'Shout to the Lord' became one of the most widely sung worship songs in history, performed by an estimated 30 million people each week globally. She and her husband Mark co-pastor HopeUC church on the Central Coast of New South Wales. In 2013 she was diagnosed with lymphoma and publicly documented her faith journey through cancer treatment, writing the book Victorious (2013) about the experience. She is widely regarded as one of the most influential worship leaders of the modern era.
